The Whitehouses got us this fabulous gym that Henry just loves to play in.

License Plates
Apparently it’s been a while because I have a bunch of license plates built up on my camera. Here they are for your enjoyment. I need some help figuring some of these out.
Maybe owns the Sunflowers deli?
Why favor Y2K, I wonder?
Fitting, in light of our new Baby D
Rebirth, cleverly spelled with a “1”
“SIMAK” means…what?
An underwater photographer?
A fan of poker!
Again I am stumped
Someone who drinks a little too much coffee, perhaps?
No idea on this one, either
Clever twist on the fast car’s name
An extra treat, a funny bumper sticker!
Not a fun license, but a browns fan in a car that appears to have been painted with a lovely after-market orange color

Confidence
I managed to make it to yoga class the other night. I was so surprised at myself – I went up in headstand pretty easily! I haven’t been doing yoga regularly since I had the baby and I was’t very disciplined before that. It’s a confidence builder to know that I can still do it.
Sigh…
The worst thing about being back at work? Not being able to have a beer at lunch every day.

Conflicted
I just called Raleigh Animal Control to get an animal trap. We’re going to trap a cat that’s been poaching in our back yard for the past two weeks.
I have strong feelings that domesticated pets should not be allowed to roam free at will. They’re well-fed at home but that doesn’t stop them hunting for sport. Domestic cats are one of the biggest causes of fatalities to song birds. I wouldn’t care if they needed to kill to eat, but they usually don’t.
We’ve had two dead birds in our yard since this cat arrived, and we only have three birds in our birdhouse (there were 5 babies to start with).
If this is a family pet, I feel a bit bad about trapping the cat and taking it to the pound. It’s a good way to lose a family pet quickly. But damn, why do they have to let it roam free in the first place?

Last Visitors
The weekend before I started back to work we had our last houseful of visitors. Larry and Hiroe (newly wed!) came from Dallas and Grant and Michelle came from Austin.
We had just a spectacular time drinking, eating and hanging out. Michelle and Hiroe loved being with Henry. We went to Fishmonger’s for dinner on Friday night, and on Saturday we went to the Farmer’s Market and had lunch at the Flying Saucer.

Michelle was great with Henry
Hiroe loved snuggling with Henry
But Grant didn’t have the magic touch

And a surprise guest!
