Second Easter Egg Hunt

We had an easter egg hunt in our neighborhood this weekend. Henry was quite prepared for the egg hunt experience.

I think he’s a little too young for sidewalk chalk, but he disagrees.

Our neighbors joined us with their son Sawyer.

And he’s off! Looks like Sawyer is keeping a close eye on the competition.

He loves playing with the eggs, putting them in and out of his basket.

Henry recently got his hair cut. Now he’s sporting the “George Clooney“.

Henry’s First Christmas at Home

We celebrated Christmas again after we got home from Granma’s. It was a beautiful tree full of presents! So much for restraining ourselves this year.

We started with Henry’s stocking, which Granma made for him. Isn’t it cute? It was filled with a few of his toys and some clementines. He was not enthusiastic. Perhaps next year.

Then we got into the serious business of opening presents. Luckily, we had help.

A fun gift from the T’s, this puppy handpuppet was promptly given the name of “Falkor.”
Hello. My name is Falcor.

Monica’s gift to us included these handmade gift tags featuring our very likeness!

And his gift from his cousins was this little Taggie blanket, a perfect gift for my little tag-chewer.

Henry was helpful, all the while, creating chaos and destruction.

So we eventually put him in his crate so we could finish opening all the presents.

The end result? A huge mess and some tired cats!

Henry’s First Christmas

Spent in Virginia Beach with his great-grandmother, his grandmother Jo, and Mommy and Daddy.

Mostly interested in bows, though

It was so wonderful to spend Christmas with Granma. Many were spent with her when I was a kid so it was great to get to share this fun time with both Henry and her. Henry loved her gifts and loved spending time with his Gangee!

Raleigh Critmas

Mom and Gene came over to celebrate an early Christmas with us last weekend. We had a lovely beef tenderloin that Dave made, and everyone liked their prezzies!

Merry Christmas Gene!

Dave made this fabulous beef tenderloin in a salt dough and herb crust. It was nothing short of AMAZING.

Amy Visits Henry

Amy came recently for her annual post-Thanksgiving visit to Raleigh. This year she helped us get and decorate our Christmas tree, extra fun because it’s Henry’s first Christmas tree.

We managed to fit in a trip to the Saucer.

And then went to get our tree at the Booger Mountain lot we always go to.

Oooooooh!

And she and I had a great time decorating the tree, especially all the ornaments that she and Ali have gotten for us. Dave mostly made cookies – YUM!!!

It was a wonderful weekend and I’m so glad that Aunt Amy was able to spend some good quality time with her nef’ie. They seemed to get along quite well.

Monkey see, monkey do

We had a great time in Cleveland this past week. Leslie’s wedding was gorgeous and beautiful and made me cry, and the reception was a blast. Unfortunately, I had no camera so no photos to show of the handsome couple.

We wound up our week of fun with the drive back home on Sunday. We left Stow at 11:30 AM and got home at 12:30 AM. That’s right, folks, a thirteen hour trip. It should have been about an eight hour drive but we had to stop for Henro multiple times and the traffic was awful. We ended up getting off the highway and taking backroads through some of West Virginia and most of Virginia and Carolina. But we did eventually make it home, safe and sound!

Halloween at Home

Filed under: Holidays — JeniQ @ 12:08 pm

We had a great time this Halloween. My mom came over and helped dish out candy while Dave took Henry to a few neighbors for his first trick-or-treat. Hiroe arrived just in time to experience her first ever Halloween night. We had one pumpkin carved and our front porch looked great. Henry had a great time seeing all the kids in costumes and getting passed around from person to person.

Halloween Party at School

We all know that Dave is an awesome dad. More proof is his visit to daycare last Friday to participate in the Halloween festivities. The girls at daycare were enamored of him because he was so helpful, and he had a great time seeing all the kids in their costumes. The costumes included an elephant, several pumpkins, a tigger, a vampire, a devil, a lion and of course Henry was a monster. The kids had a great time and were just so cute!!!
Trying not to post too many pics of the kids, but Zoe is so stinkin’ cute in this picture that I’m posting it. I’m pretty sure her mom is a blogger so I think it’s OK. Molly, can you pass this link on?
