Henry has an umbilical hernia. It’s really nothing to worry about but it doesn’t look too good and makes it harder to wear cute two-piece outfits.
Poor buddy. Turns out Dave had the same thing and had surgery to fix it when he was 6 months old.

Here’s Henry waving to the crowd.
Here are those long eyelashes he grew this week.
And a bonus picture:
Dave gave Henry a special ‘do after his bath the other night. He has his granpy’s hair!!
Henry is eight weeks old already! Seems hard to believe.
So what’s new with him? Let’s see.
Over the past week his eyelashes have grown enormously so now they’re Maybelline long, but still no eyebrows to speak of. Pictures of these eyelashes to come.
His vision is definitely improving and he can track us using both his hearing and his vision.
He also started smiling in response to Dave and me today! Perfect timing as he’s having a horde of visitors descending on him tomorrow! Hopefully we’ll have photographic proof of this smile to share with you as well.
He has officially outgrown his fabulous David Bowie onesie as well as my favorite blue star onesie. Sheesh!
We’re now having nightly baths as part of his bedtime ritual and it’s working out well. He sleeps really good and he smells better, too.
Time to go do a million things.
Some photos of Dave and Henry together.
Dave tries out the Baby Bjorn with our little peanut.
Everybody’s chillin over the weekend.
Posing in a new outfit.
Loveeeessssss!
My favorite outfit, now complete with matching socks, courtesy of Evan.
Here’s one from Aunt Tracey. Do you think we bore him with these fashion photo shoots?
Last weekend it was cool enough to get away with this cute outfit, courtesy of Mr. Finn.
Also, we got this bunny from the T’s – thanks Mom and Dad T!! If you look closely, you’ll notice his name is embroidered in Bunny’s ear.
First, I can’t thank Monica enough for coming to visit while Dave was in Taiwan. It was awesome having an extra set of hands around. Especially hands that cook such tasty food!
Here’s the meatloaf she made at my request, along with carmelized root vegetables, spinach salad and blue cheese and bacon mashed potatoes.
She spent lots of time entertaining Henry.
As well as Billy.
Napping with Henry doesn’t get old.
It was also great to get a chance to catch up and have lots of girl talk. Thanks Monica!
Mom got us this adorable handmade mobile from QuiltBaby. It hangs above the changing table and coordinates quite well with the Ugly doll Aunt Leslie gave us.
Here’s what Henry sees:
We also got a mobile for his crib, too, finally. It’s perfect! The colors on the dino mobile match his bedding and room colors, and heck, they’re dinosaurs so that’s pretty cool!
Does anyone have any info as to why Henry can sleep for 2-3 hours during the day (effectively a 3-4 hour feeding cycle) but wakes every other hour at night?
