Recent Accomplishment

Filed under: Household — JeniQ @ 9:01 pm

I re-caulked the shower. The second time since we moved here. It’s a bitch, really. I wish I could pay someone to do it.

Oh well. Looks good, doesn’t it? I used “biscuit” rather than “white” this time, so it looks much more seamless.

Happy Anniversary!

Filed under: Love — JeniQ @ 8:55 pm

Today, Dave and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. I sure am happy we tied the knot. Every day I know that my relationship with Dave has made me a better person. I’m also happy because if it weren’t for him, I’m not sure I would have decided to have a baby. I’m so happy we did – it’s a pretty cool experience.

Here’s us then:
Life as it was then…

And now:
Our life today

Damn the Internets

Filed under: David Bowie,Media — JeniQ @ 10:20 pm

Damn, I wish I could show you the cold opening for Ghosts of the Sungrasso. Maybe I’ll film it on my camera so I can share it with you. It’s SO awesome. Read about the musical references here.

Painstakingly transcribed, here are the first few minutes of the show:

[Somewhere over the Bermuda Triangle, 1969]

{Major Tom’s spaceship hurtles towards the earth}

Major Tom: I can’t keep it together, Doctor Venture. I’m sorry about the TVC-15.

{Jonas Venture stands on the deck of his ship}

Jonas Venture: Tom, I’m not worried about that tin can. I’m worried about you!

MT: I’ve got a message for the Action Man.

{Venture looks across the deck towards the Action Man}

JV: He’s listening, Tom. Go ahead.

MT: I’m happy, hope you’re happy too. I’ve loved all I’ve needed love.

{Action Man cries}

JV: Don’t talk like that, Tom. You’re gonna make it. Fight it!

{Tom lets go of the controls and visibly relaxes.}

MT: I’m feeling very still. I think my spaceship knows which way to go. Tell my wife I love her very much.

{Venture looking more and more upset}

JV: She knows!

JV: Ground control to Major Tom. Your circuit’s dead, there’s something wrong! Can you hear me, Major Tom? Major Tom!

{Major Tom’s ship crashes into the ocean.}

AM: Ashes… to ashes.

I was inspired to dress up as The Action Man for Halloween one year, but I thought it was just too random for even most of the hardcore fandom to get.

Here’s what David Bowie looks like on The Venture Bros.

Henry and his Great Granma

Filed under: Family,Henry — JeniQ @ 9:51 pm

Dave, Mom and I recently took a trip to Virginia Beach to visit Henry’s Great-granma. We were celebrating Granma’s 29th birthday by bringing her a fabulous gift: Henry.

We also had a great birthday dinner at Isle of Capri. YUMMY.

Here are some of my favorite pictures, but you can see all of them by clicking here.

Me and my mom - see the resemblance?

Is he the same size as Dave’s head?

I found this posting on Craigslist today. It totally cracks me up. 🙂

Yeah, that’s right. Any MMO, anywhere, any time.

Poll for Parents

Filed under: Babies — JeniQ @ 9:01 pm

For all you moms and dads out there, a quick poll. Please answer in the comments section below.

What time does your baby go to bed?

I’ll start.

Henry’s bathtime starts between 6:30 and 7:30, so he’s in bed sometime between 7:00 and 8:00 PM. Henry is 6 months old.

Don’t forget to tell us how old your baby is. Pass it on to your friends!

Six Months

Filed under: Henry — JeniQ @ 8:41 pm

Our little Henry is 6 months old, can you believe it? Here are his vital statistics.

  • 17 pounds, 4 ounces (45%)
  • 26″ long (34%)
  • 17″ head circumference (42%)

He is a bit of a chatterbox when he wants to be, talking mostly when he’s tired. He can sit upright on his own, though he’ll topple if left unattended.

He does sit up well in his high chair, and that’s good because he’s started solid foods. His menu includes rice cereal, oat cereal, wheat cereal, apples, pears and carrots. (We just started only recently so we still have a lot of fun, new food to try.) He has two lower teeth, the better with which to eat his new and exciting food.

He’s an experienced world traveler with three flights already under his belt. He’s been to Ohio and Virginia already, and is destined for Texas in the near future.

Sweet Henry

Oh, and he is quite possibly the cutest baby in the world.
