Tuesday the 12th we were up fairly early and had breakfast at Cosi.
We more adeptly navigated the CTA to get to the Shedd Aquarium around 10:30. What an amazing aquarium. I was in love with all the fishes and all the reptiles. I picked up some snacks at Cosi and we noshed on these halfway through our tour of the museum. When we got out, we were hungry and looking for food. We kept our standards high and didn’t settle on Bennigans, though. 🙂
[See the green neon of Bennigan’s across the street?]
We found Russian Tea Time and couldn’t resist having our afternoon meal there. I ordered potato dumplings and a flight of 3 vodkas and a glass of tasty french red wine. Dave had the beef stroganoff – yum! One of the vodkas was flavored Honey-Pepper and was really quite nice.
It was a little after 4 when we finished so we decided to dash through the Art Institute so I could see the Joseph Cornell pieces I knew they had on display. We managed to see those along with Magritte’s Time Transfixed and the famous A Sunday on La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat.
Dinner was at Oysy, a tasty sushi restaurant, before we collapsed at the end of our long day.
